Q. Do I have to be employed by a company to be able to do an NVQ?
A. No, the NVQ is what's known as a vocational qualification, this means that you must be working as a plumber. Either as a self-employed plumber or employed by a company.

Q. What would happen if I failed an assessment or exam?
A. You will be allowed to re-sit an exam up to 3 times and you will be allowed to retake any assessment you do not successfully achieve but there may be an extra charge for the additional materials used. All care is taken not to put clients forward for assessment until we are confident that they will pass.

Q. I live to far to travel every day, is there accommodation near the centre?
A. Yes, we will provide you with a list of accommodation at a range of prices for Bed and Breakfast and Hotels.

Q. I am a plumber with years of experience but no qualifications, I want to do an NVQ but will I have to do the first course?
A. No. not if you can prove your competency and your knowledge. By satisfying our assessor at an interview you will be required to sit the 11 phase tests and on successful completion you will be able to move directly on to the NVQ. During your interview you will be assessed to determine what additional training if any you require.

Q. Why is your course 10 weeks long instead of the usual 1 to 2 years that the bigger colleges take?
A. We cover the same syllabus and with the same qualification outcome as any college but instead of 1, 2 or 3 part days a week you will study 5 full days and being career changers or mature students instead of school leavers we can proceed at a much faster pace.
